Chemical: Calcium Hypochlorite Function: A granular form of chlorine shock treatment for larger volume pools that are not emptied on a regular basis. Can also be used as a chlorine sanitiser for indoor pools.
We recommend that you only buy sufficient chlorine shock to last one season. The reason is that the chlorine gradually attacks the plastic materials it is packaged in making them brittle and weak.
Dosing Rates Pool (Shock Dose): Once a fortnight (or more often in warmer weather), add 500 grams per 10,000 gallons of pool water. If algae is present you may need to double or even treble the recommended dose. Pool (Sanitiser Dose): To increase the free chlorine level by 1 ppm add 75 grams per 10,000 gallons.
